The 200s are designed “around the human,” with the blade positioned under the metatarsus, featuring a minimal shoe-blade connection that separates the hydrodynamics of the shoe and blades, and controlled-curve blades near the foot. By effectively eliminating the “traditional” resistant surface, the 200s transform the biomechanics of finning into agile and effortless finning.
The 200s weigh 189g in sizes 42-43, making them by far the lightest (and most lightweight) finning shoes in the world. The difference in mass compared to heavier finning shoes, multiplied by 4 and the number of finning strokes performed in a day of diving, translates into hundreds and hundreds of kilograms that need not be moved. It’s all less effort, it’s mathematically clear.
The 200s are the first finning shoes in the world to introduce the ability to adjust finning for divers as well. The 200s have blades under the metatarsals that can be easily adjusted to three distinct positions (H/M/S) to balance the stride with your personal characteristics. The adjustment is sensitive and noticeable. Of the three, there is no ideal position; no instructor can tell you which position to adopt. Only by experimenting will you find the most balanced one for you, which of the three will be the one that makes you less tired and will feel more “agile.”
Just two longitudinal fastening screws, with a polyurethane shock absorber between the blades and the shoes, allow for quick setup and protect against abnormal stress.
The 200s have dedicated blades, not interchangeable with other existing C4 models. The blade attachment is very small, so the area is subjected to a lot of stress. The blades of other models, not specifically designed for this use, are not sufficiently durable; adapting them is strictly inadvisable as it is risky.
Using a refined and complex construction technique, the 200 liners are made from two distinct materials, overmolding a soft, thin, durable, and self-molding thermoplastic elastomer upper onto a rigid PP insole.
The 3D-shaped water rails on the blades are applied using the overmolding technique developed by C4 specifically for the 200 series blades. The O.P.S. (Over-molding Protection System) shaping of the water rails protects the blade from unwanted impacts and damage.
